The Women Law Students Association is presenting a Jan. 28 conference focusing on facilitating gender equality in the legal profession and helping students cultivate strategies for success in their professional and personal lives.

The daylong conference is being held in room 3037; registration begins at 9:30 in the third-floor loggia.

A series of panel discussions will focus on such issues as workplace communication, career transitions and alternative career paths, and issues relating to work-life balance and facilitating personal and professional happiness. Panelists include academics and practitioners in a range of fields, from private practice to government service, and include a number of distinguished Duke Law alumni and faculty.

Chief Justice Christine Durham of the Utah Supreme Court, a 1971 Duke Law graduate and emeritus member of the Duke University Board of Trustees, will deliver the keynote address at 11:15 a.m.

The conference concludes with a networking reception on the third-floor mezzanine, co-sponsored by a number of student organizations. It is open to all members of the Duke Law community.
