The Great Financial Crisis led to a wave of new laws and regulations designed to prevent a similar crisis from occurring in the future. Those familiar with financial manias and crashes know that this follows a familiar historical pattern of boom, bust, increased regulation, relative market stability, and then a relaxation of laws and regulations. Our Center aims to help students understand the historical context which gave rise to the current financial market landscape and regulatory structure, while also giving them the tools and resources needed to navigate an ever complex web of laws and regulations and a constantly evolving financial industry.
