N.C. Equal Access to Justice Commission meets at Duke Law

The North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission meets at Duke Law School on Friday, August 11, 2006 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 4042.

The Commission was created to address the lack of access to the civil justice system in North Carolina for people of low-income or moderate means. Chief Justice Sarah Parker appointed members in January 2006, including judges, representatives of the Governor and other elected officials, representatives of the business and philanthropic communities, a representative of law schools, and members of legal advocacy organizations. Carol Spruill, associate dean for Public Interest & Pro Bono and senior lecturing fellow, is the law school representative on the commission.

The meeting is open to the public. For more information contact Frances Presma at (919) 613-7248 or presma@law.duke.edu.
