Tenth Annual PILF Auction & Gala

February 25, 2006, Nasher Museum of Art

Public Interest Law Foundations AuctionThe Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) at Duke Law School is pleased to announce the Tenth Annual PILF Auction & Gala.

The PILF Auction is one of Duke Law’s premier social events, as well as a valuable way for individuals and organizations to promote public interest legal work. Proceeds from the event are distributed to first- and second-year law students to finance their summer employment at non-profit and governmental organizations. In years past, students have used their fellowships to work at a variety of national civil rights organizations, offices of public defenders and attorneys general, and international relief organizations. In 2005, over 200 items were auctioned, including use of vacation homes in France and Hawaii, weekend getaways, tickets to sporting events, including the World Series, dinners with faculty, and more. The evening raised over $55,000, funding approximately 20 summer fellowships.

This year’s PILF Auction will be held on February 25, 2006 at the gorgeous new Nasher Museum of Art on Duke’s West Campus. Silent auction and cocktails begin at 8 p.m., with the live auction to follow. Please join us for a wonderful evening!

Proxy and reserved bids are available. Donations of items for the auction also are welcome. For more information about these and other event details, please visit the PILF website at http://www.law.duke.edu/student/act/pilf/Auction2006/home.html.
