Professor Robert MostellerProfessor Robert Mosteller has won the Duke Bar Association’s Distinguished Teaching Award for 2005. Mosteller, Harry R. Chadwick, Sr. Professor of Law, has been on the Duke Law faculty since 1983, teaching criminal procedure, evidence, and related seminars.

In making the presentation on April 19, Sarah Citrin ’05 read students’ comments to the Award Committee that called Mosteller the “epitome of what a professor should be,” and cited his willingness to answer questions, his ability to explain detailed materials clearly while putting them into a broader context, and his thoughtfulness in dealing with students, both in class and one on one.

“I feel extremely lucky to have had you as a professor,” said Citrin in presenting the award.

For his part, Mosteller called teaching the best part of his job.
