Generative AI is all the buzz, with individuals across disciplines speculating about its potential benefits and costs. This type of speculation becomes particularly pressing when the interests of already vulnerable populations are implicated. As a continuation of a first panel discussion held at Duke Law in October 2023, the Center on Law, Race & Policy, https://racelaw.duke.edu/, will host the AI and Marginalized Groups Symposium featuring a diverse and interdisciplinary panel of subject-matter scholars and in-field experts who will present and contribute related works. For more information, please contact Amanda Gonzalez at amanda.gonzalez@duke.edu.

A vast literature now exists on the ethical status of non-human animals (for short, "animals"). This conference, "Animals and Equality," will focus on the role of animals in broadly egalitarian ethical views. Other work on animals and broad egalitarianism also falls within the scope of the conference (for example, analyzing the questions that animal well-being poses for egalitarianism among humans). More information is available on the conference website. This conference is organized by the Duke Center for Law, Economics and Public Policy (CLEPP) and co-sponsored by CLEPP and the NYU Mind, Ethics, and Policy Program. For more information, please contact Amanda Gonzalez at (amanda.gonzalez@duke.edu) or Leanna Doty (leanna.doty@law.duke.edu).
