347.02 Health Care Law and Policy

This introductory survey course in health care law will explore a range of laws and regulations governing the U.S. health care system, with an emphasis on legal structures bearing on the way in which health care is delivered and financed.  The course will cover a vast array of topics, including the physician-provider relationship, medical liability, health insurance regulation, provider reimbursement, facilities regulation, antitrust, and more.  Particular attention will be paid to certain components of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
